Unlike many other consulting companies, the consultant who guides you through the initial brainstorming session is the same consultant who will develop and deploy your application, and be there to maintain your application once primary development is complete. This means your project won't be handed to a less experienced developer once the contract is signed, an all-too-common practice; in addition, it means the initial proposal won't be full of wild promises that cannot be kept.
Solid Blue firmly believes in developing your application the right way, including well-documented code and best practice standards that are accepted throughout the industry. This means that once your application is deployed, you won't be solely dependent on Solid Blue for application changes when your business rules change or when you need to add a new feature to your application.
A free initial consultation is available anytime, after which a detailed proposal will be submitted for your approval; included in the proposal will be a reasonable deadline as well as a flat fee for the work required. This means you will know exactly what your costs will be and exactly what you will be getting in return for your investment -- no hidden fees or unexpected cost overruns. If your project requires more work than is stated in the initial proposal, Solid Blue will absorb those costs provided the requested feature set does not substantially change.
Once your application has been thoroughly tested and is in production, Solid Blue offers optional maintenance services. The same consultant who developed your application will be available for future enhancements and emergencies, meaning the learning curve for maintenance operations will be lessened considerably. Thanks to the adoption of standards, however, any knowledgeable developer should be able to step in should you choose not to use Solid Blue for future changes.
